How to pay for a trip before you go

If you use the toll road a lot, the easiest thing is to set up an account so your tolls are deducted from your credit card or direct debit account every time you use the road. Otherwise you can buy single, return or multiple trips online or by phone before you leave.

How to pay for a trip after you’ve used the toll road

If you have used the toll road within the last five days you can pay by credit /debit card online or by phone. If you used the road more than five days ago, wait for a toll payment notice to be sent or call us on freephone 0800 40 20 20. Please note an administration charge of $2.20 will be added to cover the cost of issuing the notice.

What to do if you’ve received a toll payment notice

A toll payment notice is sent to the register vehicle owner if you have used the toll road and we haven’t received payment within five days. You can pay online or by calling us on freephone 0800 40 20 20. You’ll need the registration plate number of the vehicle you’re paying the toll for.

We may also pass any unpaid tolls and associated costs onto a debt collection agency.

What to do if you’ve received an infringement notice

An infringement notice is the next step if a toll payment notice has been sent to the registered vehicle owner (or the nominated driver as a result of a statutory declaration) and we haven’t received payment after 28 days. A $40 fee is incurred for each toll.

What you’ll need to pay tolls online

To pay a toll, toll payment notice or infringement notice on this website you’ll need to be using an Internet Explorer v6.0+ or Firefox v2.0+ web browser. If you are paying by credit card, we accept Visa, Mastercard and debit cards.

You can pay by internet banking if your bank offers the Pay Online (POLi) service. The following banks offer POLi: ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Kiwi Bank, TSB Bank, Westpac, Bank Direct.
